Tyia R. Patchen, 25, last known address South Howard Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacturing of drugs and illegal manufacturing of drugs. Patchen faces a mandatory prison term, which could be up to 19 years, and a $35,000 fine. According to court documents, Patchen was engaging in the manufacture of methamphetamine within the vicinity of a child in January and February. Sentencing is set for March 7.

George Faulkner Jr., 27, state Route 14, East Palestine, utilizing an Alford plea, pleaded to theft for taking a 1995 Pontiac Firebird belonging to Dalton Lappert on June 12. Faulkner was believed to be the driver when he and his brother took the vehicle on a test drive from the 7 and 14 Truck Stop and failed to return it. Sentencing is set for March 7. Faulkner faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Joshua J. Lapin, 24, East Fourth Street, Salem, stipulated to violating his probation and was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail. Lapin was credited with 25 of those days already served and allowed to be released on Dec. 23. He was further ordered to self report on Dec. 30 to complete his sentence. Lapin had been convicted of burglary for trespassing in the home of Corey McCoy and Amanda Speigle, East Fifth Street, Salem, on May 14 and 15, 2011.

Thomas M. Redman III, 31, First Avenue, East Liverpool, was dishonorably terminated from his probation on a theft conviction. He was sentenced to an indefinite term at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center. Redman had deprived the Social Security Administration of $17,138 by failing to report his income earnings for himself and his household between Jan. 1, 2007 and Feb. 1, 2009.
