EAST LIVERPOOL - Gladys Louise Malcomson Stout, of East Liverpool, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the Lancia Villa Royale in Steubenville following a lengthy illness. She was 90.
Born at Pittsburgh, Pa., April 30, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Edna Prettyman Sprague. A graduate of Penn Hills High School, she later worked as a secretary for the school district as well as Carnegie Mellon University. Gladys then lived and worked in New York where she was associated with the Tokheim Corporation and then moved to Ft. Wayne, Ind., where she and her late husband owned Systems Engineering.
Gladys recently moved to the East Liverpool area where she attended the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Malcomson, and her second husband, James Stout Sr., as well as a grandson, Christopher Malcomson.
A daughter survives, Cynthia Wise, and her husband Richard, of St. Louis, Mo.; along with two sons, Robert Malcomson II, and his wife Cynthia, of Pensacola, Fla., and David Malcomson, and his wife Janet, of East Liverpool. There is a stepdaughter, Kathy Heisler of Ft. Wayne; and two stepsons, James Stout of Ft. Wayne and Jeffrey Stout, and his wife Becky, of Angola, Ind. A brother survives George Sprague, and his wife Bertha, of Pittsburgh.
She will also be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home, 215 West Fifth St., East Liverpool. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship and continued remembrance.
Burial will take place at Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
