In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday, a Dec. 23 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for David W. McFarland, 47, Hermitage, Pa., charged with burglary and disorderly conduct. He was charged after reportedly going into the home of a waitress from Mountaineer after she refused to speak to him in the casino resort's parking lot after work. Bond was set at $5,000.
Frank Demont Matthews Jr., 52, Youngstown, was fined $700, had his license suspended for 180 days, sentenced to three days in jail and three days in a driving counseling program for OVI first offense and left of center.
Whitney M. Mercer, 28, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, was credited with five days served in jail, sentenced to an additional 175 days, fined $250 and ordered to pay $33 in restitution to Shoe Sensation in Salem, the store she took flip flops from without paying on June 10.
Russell D. Lightner Jr., 34, Foundry Hill, Salineville, was fined $280 and required 40 hours community service for failure to reinstate a license and failure to control.
Joshua E. Brown, 29, Cusick Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.
Curry Faulds, 46, Shakopee, Minn., was fined $230 for a seat belt violation, failure to control and an equipment violation amended from commercial speed.
Richard A. Baldwin, 60, Poland, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.
Michael F. Lewis, 30, Caldwell Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail for theft for stealing two packs of doughnuts valued at $1.50 from Quaker Village on Dec. 22, 2012 and leaving without paying.
Jose Mateo Jose, 40, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $100 for failure to yield and no license.
Samantha M. Alicea, 28, East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $75 for no helmet and no lights. A driving under suspension citation was found to be in error and was dismissed.
Christian A. Cechura, 18, Bethesda Road, Hanoverton, was fined $25 for a hunting violation for hunting with a firearm capable of holding more than three shells.
A Dec. 23 pretrial was set for Brandon R. Toothman, 23, Vine Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence and obstructing official business for allegedly refusing to allow police into the apartment to check on his girlfriend, who could be heard sobbing on Friday due to injuries reported from a head-butting incident.
A Dec. 23 pretrial was set for Gregory C. Ritterbeck, 22, Cedar Ridge, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking his fiance in the face.
A Dec. 23 pretrial was set for Codey A. Mobley, 19, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, the mother of his child on Dec. 10.
A Jan. 27 pretrial was set for John A. Cheyne, 54, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, cited with OVI first offense and failure to control.
A Dec. 26 preliminary hearing was set for Nickolus W. Knepper, 18, Canton, charged with theft for allegedly taking the registration sticker from a vehicle in Canton and placing it on another vehicle, which he was riding in around Salem on Monday.
Steven W. Watters II, 35, Depot Street, Rogers, was bound over to the county grand jury on a burglary charge. Watters is accused of going into the home of Megan Mercer, state Route 7, New Waterford, on
Dec. 5. Bond was continued at $5,000 surety with the orders Watters is to have no contact with Mercer or Eric Pagani.
Dustin A. Pierce, 28, East Calla Road, Poland, was fined $675, ordered to attend a three-day counseling program, had his license suspended for 180 days and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and lighted lights required.
James Minerd, 47, Crestview Road, New Waterford, was fined $300 and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension and a stop sign violation.
Harold W. Barnes Jr., 56, Black Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 and credited with one day in jail served for menacing amended from aggravated menacing for bringing a gun to a neighbor dispute involving a dog which wondered into his garage on Nov. 3.
Andrew B. Steed, 41, Mahoning Avenue, Alliance, was fined $250 and credited with one day in jail for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for smacking Kolton Steed in the face.
Steven A. Douglas, 36, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $230 and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension and a seat belt violation.
Virginia L. Mills, 46, Buffalo Road, Kensington, was fined $200, required 30 hours community service and credited with one day in jail for assault. A second assault charge was dismissed. Mills had been accused of striking both Tiffany Herron and Steven Paul in the face on Oct. 11.
Kimberly Seiter, 32, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $150 for no license amended from driving under suspension.
Derek R. Culver, 21, South Seneca Street, Alliance, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.
Nathaniel E. Yarwood, 25, Walnut Lane, New Waterford, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from possession of instruments to ingest or inhale controlled substances. A tail lights citation was dismissed.
David E. Gromley, 30, Railroad Street, Kensington, was fined $100 and credited with three days served in jail for disorderly conduct amended from assault for harming Daryl Kibler on July 5.
Brody Kirkbride, 21, Virginia Avenue, Chester, W.Va., was fined $20 for no license and speeding.
A jury trial for Juan D. Stamps, 35, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, charged with assault was canceled so the evidence can be presented to the county grand jury. Stamps is accused of holding a woman down by sitting on her, pushing her into a closet and continuously smacking her in the face with his hands on Oct. 20.
A Dec. 19 arraignment was set for Dalia Bennett, 20, West Main Street, East Palestine, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly damaging the living room of the group home where she was staying.
A Dec. 23 pretrial was set for Tommy Daniels, 55, Youngstown, cited with OVI first offense and assault for allegedly speeding up and ramming a vehicle which passed him while he was going only 20 mph and "all over the road".
A Jan. 16 pretrial was set for Adam K. Zupancic, 21, South Raccoon Road, Canfield, cited with possession of marijuana, plate light required and open container.
A Jan. 21 pretrial was set for Brandon O. Brown, 28, state Route 518, Lisbon, cited with OVI first offense, failure to control and failure to display a valid sticker.
A Jan. 27 pretrial was set for John R. Hall, 22, Niles, cited with OVI first offense.
A Jan. 28 pretrial was set for James V. Stanonik, 53, state Route 170, East Palestine, cited with OVI first offense, lane violations and improper backing.
