What a con job

December 15, 2013
The Review

Dear Editor:

I recently read that our trade deficit fell this month. I was amazed to see that one of the factors that led to this reduction was oil exports. That floored me, I thought that we had to import oil, not export it. This tells me, that we consumers have been conned again.

Not only do we subsidize the oil industry, but they keep gas prices high by exporting the oil from here to other countries. That means that past presidents, congresses, and current government leaders have been well aware of this.

We will never have lower gasoline if this is allowed to happen. We're paying these oil corporations to put the screws to us. That's pretty darn bad. Obviously energy production isn't such a national security issue as we've been led to believe.

What a con job!
