LISBON- Donald Dewayne Smail, 80, of Elmwood Drive, passed away at 1:20 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital following a recent illness.
Mr. Smail was born May 3, 1933 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph H. and Wilda Mae (Stull) Smail.
He worked as a machinist at Chester Hoist and also farmed on the family farm.
He was a member of the New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Smail also served our country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Norma (Dotson) Smail; and by his sister, Eleanor Eileen Gargano of Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Mark R. Wilds officiating. Private burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
