Two people were charged Monday morning with endangering children after an officer responded to a report of a woman "flipping out" with a baby in the house. Arriving at the Globe Street address, the officer found the front door open and walked into the home, where he reported garbage laying all over the floor along with bowls of moldy food. He reported being met by occupant Tom Dennis, 35, who said his wife, Dawnyelle, 32, had left after "acting crazy." The officer checked the home to ascertain if Mrs. Dennis was gone and reported, "I have never seen a house in such deplorable conditions," with a litter box containing live and dead cock roaches, as well as standing water in the bathroom sink with roaches floating in it, a soap dish with dead roaches in it, live roaches running around a child's potty chair, dishes stacked on the kitchen sink and dishes and garbage on the floor. Upstairs, the officer found two small children sitting in a playpen. Photographs submitted with the report showed piles of clothing lying all over as well as other unsanitary conditions. He charged both parents with endangering children and a message was left with Children's Services.
