Eva Jividen, 85

GLENMOOR - Eva Jividen, 85, of Glenmoor, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born on Dec. 23, 1927, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice Bailey Wooden.

An avid student of the Bible, Eva devoted her life to serving God and was an active member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Newell. She had worked at the former Edwin M. Knowles and later Homer Laughlin China companies at one time. Eva's greatest love was time spent with her family for whom she enjoyed crocheting and quilting gifts. Eva also was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Eva was preceded in death on Nov. 27, 2007, by her husband of 62 years, Bernard W. Jividen, whom she married on June 29, 1945.

Surviving are three daughters: Sandy Broadbent of Blackwood, N.J., Judy Preston, and her husband Paul, of Lisbon, and Linda Lanam, and her husband David, of East Liverpool; as well as a son, David H. Jividen, and his wife Roxanne, of Dublin, Ohio. Eva is also survived by seven grandchildren: Mike Broadbent, Amy Johnson, Ed Broadbent, Matt Preston, Jen Preston-Newhouse, Stacie Sevel, Lindsey Slaybaugh; and two stepgrandsons, Josh and Jared Lanam. There are 12 great-grandchildren: Mike, Mark, and Jenna Broadbent, Amanda Broadbent, Amanda and Adam Johnson, Brooke, Sean, and Ryan Preston, Maura Newhouse, and Parker and Teagen Sevel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Jividen; a son-in-law, Bill Broadbent; and four sisters, Anna Werling, Mary Ulbright, Ruth Hughes and Beatrice Cantwell.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor David Perkins of the church. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
