AKRON - Vivian J. Bentz, 93, formerly of Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Bath Manor in Akron.
Born in East Liverpool, June 22, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Harry M. "Mike Jennings and Florence M. (Cline) "Bobba" Jennings.
Her husband, Forrest Bentz, preceded her in death. The couple married Jan. 23, 1969. A sister, Lucille J. Walker, also preceded her in death.
Vivian was a 1938 graduate of East Liverpool High School. She then attended the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1941. She worked as a nurse at Akron City Hospital from 1941 through 1945. From 1950 through 1976, Vivian worked as a nurse and office manager in the East Liverpool medical practice of Dr. John A. Fraser, M.D.
Survivors include a son, Michael R. Snowden, and his wife Janet Naher-Snowden, of Akron, and their three children, Jeffrey, Gregory and Scott. There is also a great-granddaughter, Jaina Snowden, and a stepson, Forrest Bentz of Salem.
Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date at Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.
