CHESTER A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning for area native Marilyn R. Laneve Kautz, who passed away at 12:44 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at East Liverpool City Hospital. Marilyn, who had been ill for quite some time, was 83.
She was born a daughter of the late Frank A. and Mildred Bailey Laneve on Nov. 2, 1929, in East Liverpool. Following her graduation from the former Wells High School, she continued her education at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, Md., and remained in that area for many years. She had been a longtime educator in the Baltimore City Schools, primarily on the elementary level, retiring as a third grade teacher. Marilyn returned to this area to reside at the Peachtree Inn in 2007.
She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester.

Preceding her in death in 2006 was her husband, Bruce C. Kautz.
She leaves behind two sisters, Linda Wickstrom and her husband, Gail, of Newell; Donna Cercone and her husband, Gene, of Conway, Pa.; a brother, Dr. Samuel A. Laneve and his wife, Mary, of Dayton; and a sister-in-law, Joby Laneve, of Lynchburg, Va. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. John F. Laneve and two sisters, Gloria Rose Laneve and Mildred Ann Laneve.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Father Eric Antwi will preside at the Mass, which will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service, family and friends will return to the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of fellowship.
