EAST LIVERPOOL-Erven Clinton "Woody" Woodyard, 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on Oct. 22, 2013 at East Liverpool City Hospital of complications from lung cancer.
A son of the late Bert and Dorothy Lowe Woodyard, Erven was born in East Liverpool on Aug. 9, 1941.
He later met and married his wife of 51 years, Ruth A. Windle Woodyard. They went on to have two daughters, Karen (James) Woodyard Buck of Honey Creek, Wis.; and Sharon (John) Woodyard Taylor of Commerce Township, Mich. Erven also leaves his granddaughters, Jenna Buck, a student at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Brittany Taylor, a student at Saginaw Valley State University. His sisters, Eleanor Krafft, and Esther (Don) Welsh and his sister-in-law, Linda Woodyard all of East Liverpool also survive along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
This man will be greatly missed and never forgotten. His family, fishing, and dog were his greatest passions in life.
A member of the Christian Life Tabernacle, Erven was a security supervisor for Capital Security, last working at the BASF Corporation.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Edith Hissom and brothers, Elden and Edward Woodyard preceded him in death.
Pastor George White of the church will celebrate Erven's life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home today (Wednesday) from 6-8 p.m.
