The Tri-State Area recently lost a man who made a difference in the area, Rev Frank Higginbotham.
Frank was a "Man of God," who "walked the walk and talked the talk."
I met Frank when I began working at WOHI in May of 1990. I will never forget when I met Frank, I introduced myself to Frank and he said "Welcome, I hope you like it here."
Well I did, for 18 years. I can never forget the wonderful people in the East Liverpool area. It will always be great memories I will always cherish.
Frank and I really hit it off, having great talks and joking around. We never did have lunch. Frank always showed respect for people. He never looked down on anyone and Frank always had a smile and a kind word for whomever he came in contact with.
The scripture verse from Matthew 5:41 (If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.) was Frank! He lived what the Bible says everyday, and Frank was there for anyone. Whatever it was, Frank was there. He listened to what you had to say. He was just there for you.
I miss Frank. His legacy will live through his family.
I really miss all of the wonderful people who listened to WOHI, especially the "Swap Shop Sweethearts." All of you were wonderful people to talk to and fun to listen to - what great wisdom you gave me.
My time at WOHI was a great time in my life. You were all there when all of our children where married, and you heard the birth announcements of our grandchildren, which is now 10.
I'm still working for a Christian radio station in Canton, 5:30-10 a.m. (WNPQ-FM The Light 95.9). Please check our website (thelight959.com).
I don't have enough space to mention all of the wonderful people I had the pleasure of working with. It was a great time.
In closing, I will say this again about Frank Higginbotham, when Frank went home to be with the Lord, I'm sure the Lord greeted Frank with "well done my good and faithful servant."
Thanks for hearing me out and love ya all.
