Police were called at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 to the Chester Avenue home of Barbra Nightengale, who showed the officer damage to her garage. She claimed that it had been done by the trailer hitch of a truck parked nearby based on the height of the damage versus the truck. However, the officer could find no evidence on either the garage or the truck linking the two to the incident.
An officer responded at 8:48 p.m. Oct. 11 to the Commerce Street home of Holly Jones, who said that a pair of bicycles belonging to her two daughters had been stolen from the side of the house. They are both Huffy bicycles, one blue and the other orange.
Police arrived at a Chester Avenue residence the morning of Oct. 9 to find a pair of young children running around in a fenced-in yard, one naked and the other in pajamas. The officer yelled inside the open side door of the home numerous times before entering the house, finally making contact with Cassandra Baughan, the mother of the naked child. Baughan said that she had been sleeping, and the other child was her boyfriend's, Wesley Mase. Mase called while the police were present, saying that Baughan had suffered a diabetic episode earlier before he went to work. The officer stated a report of the incident would be filed with children's services.
Shannon Rigdon came to the station at 3:25 p.m. Oct. 9 to report that her 1999 Mercury Cougar had been struck by another vehicle while parked outside her Clark Avenue residence between 11 p.m. the previous night and 6:25 that morning, breaking off the driver's side mirror.
Officers arrived at at Chester Avenue residence in the predawn hours of Oct. 7, where Sarah Berdine said Cody Mobley was beating on the door demanding to be let in. Berdine told officers that Mobley has hit her in the past, but she never reported it, and she wants him to stay away. She also accused him of stealing one of her medications and of attempting to punch her , but hitting a wall instead. Berdine and her friend, Bobbie McIntyre both stated Mobley has threatened to burn Berdine's house down. Mobley was not present then or when police were called back to the house for a similar incident 30 minutes later. Police stated charges of aggravated menacing would be prepared against Mobley for his arson threats.
