WELLSVILLE - A vacant house in a secluded area of 25th Street Heights was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon, with the cause still under investigation.
Volunteer firefighters from the village responded about 5:30 p.m. to the house on Mobley Road after a former firefighter spotted smoke and called in, according to officials.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the house fully involved, with heavy fire and smoke billowing from the hillside structure. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

There were no utilities connected to the house, whose owner had not yet been determined last night.
The blaze remains under investigation.
