HAMMONDSVILLE - James Roger Tice, 82, of Township Road 299, died Monday evening, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of Ohio Valley in Steubenville.
He was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Irondale, a son of the late Earl and Bernice Wiles Tice.
James lived all his life in this area, graduated from Irondale High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a millwright and electrician from Crucible Steel Co. He was a member of the Irondale Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed farming.
James will be missed by two daughters: Barbara (Ed) Leanza of Trenton, Fla., and Robin (Dale) Wise of Lake Park, Ga.; one son, Robert (Susan) Lawrence Jr. of Toronto; one brother, Larry (Betty) Tice of Irondale; one sister, Ethel Nelson of Irondale; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Reapp.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home, Salineville, with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery Hammondsville, where full military honors will be accorded by the Salineville American Legion John Adams Post 442 Honor Guard.
