SALEM - Gene R. Zeppernick, 77, of Salem, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at his son's home following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Zeppernick was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Salem, a son of the late Marion and ArNella (Campf) Zeppernick.
After attending Salem High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Zeppernick worked as a tool and die maker, also worked in construction, and was a truck driver.
He is survived by his children, Marion "Butch" Zeppernick, Tami Bash, both of Salem, and Jeannie Burrier of Akron; brothers, Donald Zeppernick of Boardman, Robert Zeppernick of North Carolina, Richard Zeppernick of Kansas, and John Girscht of Deerfield; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Zeppernick was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy A. Zeppernick.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at the Salem Am Vets, 750 South Broadway Street, Salem.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, Lisbon.
