GLENMOOR-A home at 15842 Milbourne Avenue in Glenmoor sustained significant heat and smoke damage when it caught fire Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters from Calcutta, Glenmoor and Liverpool Township responded to a call of a structure fire at the residence at about 4:30 p.m.
Several other area departments including township stations 7 and 8 and West Point were put on standby.

The homeowners, identified as the Shultz family by Glenmoor Fire Chief Matt Smith, were home at the time of the fire. The family and their two cats were able to escape unharmed and no firefighters were injured battling the fire.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, according to Smith. He noted it may have been caused by an electrical issue, which originated in the bedroom of the home.
The fire was brought under control quickly by firefighters after they arrived on scene, minimizing the damage to the structure of the home.
Smith said the home owners may be able to salvage the home and continue living there. He said be believes the home to be insured.
