EAST LIVERPOOL - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend Jean A. Connor Jones, 85, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning, Oct. 11, 2013, at her home on Elson Street in East Liverpool, surrounded by her family.
Born at home in Wellsville on Aug. 16, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Edna Watson Connor. She had attended East Liverpool schools and began working at a young age in the decorating shop of the former Edwin Knowles Pottery in Chester. Jean later worked as office manager for Meadowood Apartments in Wellsville and had also been a secretary at Agnes Bulger Dance Studio at one time. Above all, however, she was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her family and their many friends and providing a loving home to all who entered the doors.
Jean and her husband, Donald E. Jones, Sr., raised their large family in this area and enjoyed traveling, following their grandchildren's activities, playing cards, and making frequent trips to Mountaineer. One was rarely seen without the other, and they were looking forward to celebrating 63 years of marriage on Nov. 14.
