Officers were called Friday morning to Cornell Street for a domestic disturbance, where Tracy McCoy was found at a neighbor's residence. McCoy said she and her boyfriend, Shawn P. Woods, 41, were having an argument and he threw her cell phone somewhere. She told police her bags were ready and her father was coming to pick her up, she just wanted her phone. Officers went to the couple's Cornell Street home where they reported finding bags on the porch. Woods reportedly said McCoy's phone was in one of the bags. He was told to call the phone but returned to the porch with a rifle. An officer grabbed the rifle from Woods' hand while he was held at gunpoint by another officer. The weapon was found to be empty. Woods was charged with using weapons while intoxicated.
Walmart employees reported Sunday two women were in the store and left with more than $58 worth of goods without paying, one of them carrying toddler. A license plate number was obtained from the vehicle they were in, and charges of theft and endangering children are pending.
Donna Parsons, Sprucevale Road, reported Saturday her husband had left in her vehicle with her purse which contained $5,000 in cash and her prescription medications. Mrs. Parsons was asked why she kept money and medications in her purse when she had made the same exact report in March of 2012. Officers checked the area but could not locate her husband.
Responding to a two-car accident on Sprucevale Road near Gretchen's Lock Saturday, officers said words were exchanged between the driver at fault and the family of the other driver. Richard Ketchum reportedly ran up to an officer and began arguing with him and refused to leave after being told several times to do so. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle on the ground with officers. The report did not specify the charge.
A woman involved in a traffic accident Friday told officers an unknown woman stopped to help her and stole $150 from her purse. The identity of the accident victim was not reported.
