EAST LIVERPOOL - John R. Lyle, 65, passed away suddenly at his home on Fox Chase Drive in East Liverpool Wednesday evening, Oct. 2, 2013.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1948 in East Liverpool, a son of the late Betty Jane Howell Lyle Hyde and James Oscar Lyle.
John was a truck driver and laborer at Shippingport Power Plant and most recently delivered meals at Catholic Charities in East Liverpool. He also owned and operated J&L Auto Sales at one time.

A member of the Potters Club, he was also a retired member of the Labors International Union of North America Local 833 in New Brighton, Pa. He was also a member of the House of Prayer.
Surviving him at home is his loving wife, Jackie Woodward Headley-Lyle, whom he married on Aug. 29, 1997.
John also leaves behind his family: four daughters Lori Sullivan, and her husband Vincent, of Kensington, Ohio; Tammy Kittle, and her husband Bill, of East Liverpool; Wendy Smith, and her husband Todd, of East Liverpool; Heidi Lyle of Wellsville, as well as a son, John Lyle, II, of East Liverpool. He also leaves behind a step-daughter Jamie Vujaklya, and her husband Matt; and two step-sons, John Headley and his wife, Jenn and Jared Headley, all of East Liverpool. There are 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild expected later this month.
In addition, he is survived by his brothers and sisters: Ross Lyle, and his wife Leah; Jay Lyle; Jerry Lyle, and his wife Donna; Sally Paugh, and her husband Keith; Janie Noble, and her husband Denny; Sandy Barborak, and her husband Larry; Archie Hyde, and his wife Jackie; and Chuck Hyde.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday where the family will be present from 2-6 p.m. Pastor Mary Lou Hull and Bob Gadd of the House of Prayer will conduct a funeral service at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the House of Prayer for fellowship.
