EAST LIVERPOOL - Margaret A. Burns Jones of Park Way passed away at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday morning, Oct. 2, 2013, at the age of 97 at the Hospice House in Poland following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Leon, West Virginia on July 20, 1916, a daughter of the late Milton and Pearl Sines Burns. During World War II, she had been a scarfer at the mill before marrying her husband and raising a family of her own. She had also been a nanny for several area families, including the Vodrey family of East Liverpool.
Her husband, Allen R. Jones, whom she married on May 2, 1959, preceded her in death on May 19, 1988.

Margaret had been a member of the 1st Church of Christ, and also belonged to the Gold Star Women of the American Legion. An avid Bingo player, she also enjoyed word search games on the computer, even recently.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Radeschi and companion Jim Litton of East Liverpool, and by her step-daughter, Orpha Willett and her husband, Richard, of Barberton, Ohio. There is also a granddaughter, Angela Renee' Radeschi of East Liverpool, as well as 10 step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. A sister, Martha Lee Phillips of East Liverpool, also survives along with her beloved dog Zipper.
Preceding Margaret in death were two stepsons, Allen "Sonny" Jones and Brady Jones, as well as two step-grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and two brothers: Rudolph Burns who died during the Battle of the Bulge, and an infant.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, with Pastor Carolyn Hardy of LaCroft Church of the Nazarene.
Burial will be held at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
