EAST LIVERPOOL - Mary Jane Arnold, 86, passed away at her home on Parkway in East Liverpool at 9:28 a.m. Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 2013.
She was born in Midland, Pa., on Nov. 27, 1926, a daughter of the late George and Grace Pilgrim Stoffel.
A 1945 graduate of Midland High School, Mary Jane furthered her education at the Ohio Valley Business College. For most of her working life, she had been a supervisor at Ohio Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.
Mary Jane was a member of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and loved traveling, golfing and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Arnold, who passed away on Aug. 11, 1988.
Surviving Mary Jane are two nephews and a niece: George Stoffel and his wife, Helen, of Lakewood, Ohio, Marcy Groll and her husband, Frank, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Richard Stoffel of New Castle, Pa. There are several great nieces and nephews as well.
In addition to her husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by three brothers, George Stoffel, William Stoffel and James Stoffel.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 4-8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Parish with Father Peter Haladej as the celebrant. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
