Today, schools officials at East Liverpool will show off the finished product at Patterson Field to the public.
We urge all who can make it to attend the open house celebration, scheduled 4-6 p.m. today.
A dedication ceremony takes place at 5:30 p.m. The district's band and choir will perform. A benefit spaghetti dinner will he held. And the Potters football team will be practicing.
There has been some noted controversy surrounding the nearly $1.2 million project, which included new home and visitor locker rooms and a new public restroom facility, but the end result should be pleasing to all involved.
It is a job well done. By all involved.
Also to be commended are the volunteers who stepped in at a savings to the school district. The home lockers formerly housed underneath the stadium bleachers received a fresh coat of paint from players and coaches so they could be used in the new facility, and other volunteers painted the nearby ticket booth and surrounding fencing.
Plus, the East Liverpool Athletic Hall of Fame Committee purchased and installed a new flag pole and flag.
It's a renovation project in which the community can be proud.
