Responding to a theft from auto at a Fourth Street residence at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, the victim, Carol Call, told police her son had taken the car and was chasing after the male suspect. Officers tracked the son to 14th Street, where he provided a description matching to Shawn Cunningham, who was traced to a Maple Street residence. When confronted by police, Cunningham admitted to the theft of $21 cash plus change from the car. He was arrested and subsequently identified by Call's son.
An officer stopped Cimberly Bryant of East Liverpool at 1:54 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Aten Avenue exit of state Route 7 after recording her 1997 Buick sedan at 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. Bryant's license was found to be suspended and expired; the tags on the Buick had also expired two days earlier. She was cited for speeding, driving under suspension and expired plates, and the car was towed.
Liz Broderick of Lincoln Avenue reported that between 3 p.m. Sept. 4 and 1 p.m. Sept. 5, the air conditioner was removed from a bedroom window and her home was burglarized. Missing were a 42-inch LG and a 32-inch Vizio television, as well as several boxes of old coins and a crystal egg. The crystal was subsequently recovered.
Stephanie Furbee reported a theft of medication from her Riverside Avenue home at 1 p.m. on Aug. 29. She told police that she returned home to find the screen in her kitchen window pushed in. According to Furbee, nothing else appeared to be missing.
