In a three-day span, we've seen the Columbiana County Drug Task Force at work - eliminating drugs from our communities.
On Tuesday, an annual aerial search for outside marijuana-growing operations netted 235 plants in a three township area. Total street value was estimated at $235,000.
On Wednesday, the DTF and other law enforcement agencies raided a suspected drug house in Wellsville. The result was two arrests and the seizure of 65 grams of cocaine, 214 Oxycondone tablets, more than $2,500 in cash and a handgun. The estimated street value of the drugs was pegged at more than $12,000.
And on Thursday, an East Liverpool home was searched and the result was two arrests, drugs, drug paraphernalia and more than $4,000 in cash.
What we've learned is known "drug houses" within our communities are being monitored by our law enforcement. Investigations are taking place, and tips from those of you out in these communities are being used.
It's the teamwork of everyone - federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies along with us, the residents- that resulted in these arrests and seizures.
For that we say "job well done."
