INDIANAPOLIS - Thomas E. Whitehair, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sept. 12, 2013, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, following a lengthy illness.
Born in East Liverpool on Nov. 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Clyde E. and Esther M. Whitehair. Tom graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1956, and was a member of the marching band, jazz band and the orchestra. He also graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
After moving to Indianapolis, Tom worked for the H. R. Block Department Store as a buyer. He also worked for Westvaco Co. as their sales manager until retiring in 2003.
Survivors include: a brother, Donald E. Whitehair, and his wife Ann, of Napa, Calif., a nephew, Jeff Whitehair of New York, and his cousin, Janet L. Chambers, and her husband Jeff, of East Liverpool.
As per Tom's request no services will be observed. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery. Local arrangements are being handled by the Dawson Funeral Home.
