Angel M. Potts, 20, College Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to four counts of burglary for her part in thefts from four East Liverpool homes last summer. She faces up to 12 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Nov. 4.
According to court documents, Potts and co-defendant David Sisco Jr. trespassed into the home of Greg Stansbury, Thompson Avenue, on July 17 taking a laptop, iPod and watches. Then on Aug. 15 at the home of Karen Sims, Woodbine, the couple went in through the back window and took about $2,000.
On Aug. 20, the pair went into the home of Gerald Potts, College Street, taking a television and miscellaneous Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia. Finally, on Aug. 28, in the home of Richard and Marsha Webb, Henry Avenue, walking away with a video recorder and miscellaneous jewelry.
Sisco, 23, last known address Tague Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty in June to six counts of burglary and three counts of receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to seven years.
Justin E. Crowl, 21, Salem Grange Road, Salem, was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail after a probation violation for a previous complicity to breaking and entering charge. The court suspended 16 days and gave him credit for the other 74 already served.
According to court documents, Crowl drove two other men, Michael Carlisle and Jarred Chestnut, to the property of Dan Paumier, Haessly Road, Hanoverton, on Feb. 22, 2011, used his truck to transport a stove, refrigerator, I-beams and electrical boxes from inside the house and barn and then proceeded to help scrap the items splitting $100 between the three of them. The other two men also pleaded to charges involved in the crime.
