EAST LIVERPOOL - A man who was an earlier gunshot victim, and whose son also was recently shot, reported shots fired into his home Monday night.
Responding to a 911 call at 9:10 p.m. Monday from Richard P. Austin, 1016 Saint George St., police were advised someone had fired several shots into his home.
Numerous bullet holes were found in the west side of the house, according to police, who reported the holes appeared to be a "decent-sized caliber."
Austin told officers he was lying on the couch when he heard the shots and "hit the floor," saying he believed between six and 10 shots were fired.
Officers believe the shots came from the area of the intersection of Mulberry and Saint George streets, but they canvassed the area and found no spent casings or any other evidence.
A neighbor reported seeing a small car traveling north on Mulberry Street at a high rate of speed right after hearing the shots, and another neighbor reported hearing nine shots fired.
Austin was the victim of a shooting at the Hideaway Bar on May 25, 2010, when he was shot in the buttocks.
His son, Tyler Austin, 22, was the victim of a shooting this past July at a Pennsylvania Avenue home which resulted in him being flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with a wound to his torso.
A suspect in the most recent case was not located despite an extensive search the night of the shooting.
