EAST LIVERPOOL-Dolores E. Satow, 84 of East Liverpool, Ohio passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013. She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on Sept.19, 1928 a daughter of the late Cornelius and Hilda (Burrows) Adkins.
Mrs. Satow retired in 2003 after serving the City of East Liverpool as the first woman Mayor. She filled the remainder of Mayor Devon's term in 1996, following his death and was elected to a full term in 1999. Prior to becoming the 68th Mayor, she was secretary to Mayor William Devon as well as several other Mayors. She attended East Liverpool High School and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Aloysius Church. Mrs. Satow was a lifetime member of the NAACP, a former president of the East Liverpool Lion's Club and always was willing to help others.
Her husband, Raymond Satow died Oct. 10, 1984. They were married Jan. 12, 1951.

Mrs. Satow is survived by two daughters, Amy Scheehle and her husband, Tom of Mount Pleasant, Ohio and Barbara Imes of Fort Collins, Colo.; son-in-law, Jack Pico of Niles, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tom Scheehle, Sara Scheehle, Jim Imes and Rachel Pico.
Along with her parents and husband a daughter, Susan Pico preceded her in death. Also three brothers, Neil Adkins, Paul Adkins and Bob Adkins as well as two sisters, Maxine Maley and Mary Ward preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Holy Trinity Parish with Rev. Father Peter Haladej as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 from noon to 8:00 p.m.
