EAST LIVERPOOL - Another Columbia Gas gas main replacement project is slated to begin around the first week of September in the city's East End.
The project is part of Columbia's Accelerated Mains Replacement Program.
Crews will be replacing aging gas mains and service lines to some homes. Gas meters on the inside of some homes will also be moved to the outside.
Streets included in the project are: Ohio, Michigan and Cleveland avenues; and St. George and Walter streets. A majority of the service lines being replaced are on Michigan Avenue.
The project is anticipated to be complete by the end of the year. Crews will be boring underneath a 700 foot section of a nearby stream to protect both the stream and the pipeline.
In all, the project will entail 2,900 feet of new six-inch pipeline and 535 feet of new two-inch pipeline.
The project is anticipated to cost about $450,000.
Residents with questions or concerns about the project may call 800-344-4077 and reference the Ohio Avenue project in East Liverpool.
