I want to take this opportunity to encourage your readers to attend the musical extravaganza that will be presented 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at First United Methodist Church on 5th Street in East Liverpool.
Tickets are available at the Lou Holtz/Upper Ohio Valley Hall of Fame for $15 each. The money will help fund the "I Believe in YOUth" grant program at the hall of fame for teachers up and down the Upper Ohio Valley.
The world-famous Sgro Brothers, Tony and Dom, formerly of Wellsville, will headline the show. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006, they have performed at the White House, invited by President George W.Bush, and did a command performance for Queen Elizabeth at the Palladium Theater in London, England.
Known in the Marine Corps Band as the "Harmoniacs" in the 1950s, they have appeared on radio and television and at various other venues over their more than 60 years of entertaining.
Additionally, The Renaissance Singers from East Liverpool High School, led by Lisa Ensinger; the gospel quartet By His Grace; and Rose Angelica, another Hall of Fame inductee from the class of 2007, will perform.
For a delightful evening by local talent, don't miss this show. Seating is limited. For those of you who have never been in the church, you will also have front row seating to view the beautiful Tiffany stained glass windows.
Light refreshments will be served in the church parlor following the performance.
Won't you join us in helping our teachers by supporting this evening of musical entertainment?
