EAST LIVERPOOL - Becky Anne Price Messenger, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 17, 2013, at 10:48 p.m. at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a sudden illness at her home. Becky was 47.
She was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., on Nov. 16, 1965, a daughter of the late William Earl Price, who passed away in 2004, and Anna Murphy Price of East Liverpool.
Becky was a 1984 graduate of East Liverpool High School, and then received her degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University. A devoted homemaker, she most enjoyed the time spent with her family, although she did love riding her Harley Davidson with her husband.
In addition to her mother, surviving her at home is her husband, Larry "JR" Messenger Jr.
Becky also leaves behind her four daughters: Kira R. Price of Wellsville, Olivia Price-Lonkert of Glenmoor, and Jaya Messenger and Mya Messenger, both of East Liverpool. There are two beloved granddaughters, Chloe Brooke Adkins and Sydney Raine Adkins, and Becky was anxiously looking forward to the birth of her first grandson this fall.
Three brothers and two sisters survive as well: James E. "Jim" Price and his wife, Kathy, of Danville, Ohio; William Paul "Bill" Price, of East Liverpool; Kirk Price and his wife, Annette, of East Liverpool; Laura Ann Bennett and her husband, Bill, of East Liverpool; and Amber Yatro of Butler, Ohio.
In addition to her father, Becky was preceded in death by a sister, Mary "Crickett" Wharton, who died in 2001.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating.
