LISBON - Three men from the Cornerstone Premium Motors Inc. in Columbiana and Salem are facing charges in Columbiana County Municipal Court involving selling vehicles without the proper salesman licenses.
A May 9 pretrial was set for Robert D. Zwingler Jr., 56, West Middletown Road, Columbiana, charged with 38 counts of soliciting the sale of a motor vehicle without a license as the owner of a used car dealership.
Court documents state Robert D. Zwingler Jr. is the owner of two used vehicle dealership locations, Cornerstone Premium Motors both on North Main Street, Columbiana, and West State Street, Salem. It notes he was allowing Chad Zwingler and Ryan E. Zwingler to sell vehicles at those locations without the proper sales licenses.
Robert D. Zwingler Jr., according to court documents, was found by investigators to be operating the car lots on 38 different dates between March 2011 and November 2012 without the proper licensing.
Additionally, May 9 pretrials were set for both Chad R. Zwingler, 31, West Middletown Road, Columbiana, and Ryan E. Zwingler, 28, West Pine Lake Road, Salem, each charged with two counts of engaging in motor vehicle business without a license. Court documents allege Chad Zwingler was selling vehicles on both Sept. 28, 2012 and Oct. 26, 2012, while Ryan Zwingler was selling vehicles on Oct. 23, 2012 and Nov. 19, 2012.
Additionally it was noted in the paperwork that both the younger men were informed on Jan. 18 about the missing licenses and given the opportunity to file for the proper paperwork, but failed to do so.
The charges were filed by Amanda Butler, an investigator with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
