Elma Kerr, U.S. Route 62, Salem, reported at 1:59 p.m. Tuesday she heard a loud knock on her door at about 6 p.m. Monday. When she did not answer the door, it came crashing open. A man she described as white with dark hair and less than 30 years old saw her and took off.
Robert Doyle Hartley Road, Beloit, reported at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday sometime overnight someone painted a male body part and slur on a building in his yard.
Terry Schaffhauser, Bayview Drive, Beloit, reported at 11:23 a.m. Monday a woman he knows wrote two of his checks out to herself without his permission and cashed them for $333 total.
Detective Jeff Haugh saw a pickup deputies had been looking for parked at Farmer Bills in Gavers unattended at 12:48 p.m. Monday. From a distance, a man deputies knew had warrants from county Municipal Court, Mitchell Lacey, got into the pickup and was followed southbound on state Route 164. He at first refused to stop, but pulled over eventually at the intersection of state Routes 39 and 164. Both Lacey and his passenger, Missie Faloba ,were taken into custody on warrants. Lacey is also charged with receiving stolen property, because the pickup was reported stolen by the owner, Robert Federer of Cadiz on March 14.
Donald Stine, Hazel Run Road, Salineville, reported a domestic at his home at 12:29 a.m. Tuesday. He and his wife were in bed and she reportedly started accusing him of hitting her in the head with his elbow, then she got up and threw water on him. Nettie Stine claimed her husband had one arm on her waist and hit her in the head with his elbow several times. Both signed a refusal to prosecute.
