Salvatore "Sam" Tedeschi

HAMMONDSVILLE - Salvatore "Sam" Tedeschi, 80, of Hammondsville, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at home following a lengthy illness.

He was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Wellsville, the son of the late Carmen Anthony and Mafalda (Buch) Tedeschi.

Sam was employed for sixteen years as a coal miner in Powhattan Point, before retiring in 1987. He was Protestant by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly (Heffner) Tedeschi, whom he married Oct. 1, 1952; three sons: Brian Tedeschi and his wife Pam of Salineville, Steve Tedeschi of Highlandtown, and Bruce Tedeschi and his wife Sandy of Kensington; and one sister: Antionette Tedeschi McKenzie and her husband John of Wellsville. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his son: Jon Tedeschi, who passed away March 3, 2013; and two sisters: Mary Tedeschi and Agnes Tedeschi.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Reverend Ted Ludwig of Bethel Presbyterian Church and Pastor Don Barnes of Senior Independence Hospice officiating.

Burial will follow in Highlandtown Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
