Helen A. Wedgwood
CHESTER, W.Va. -Helen A. Wedgwood, 85 of Chester passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville following a brief illness. Her loving family was at her side as they always were.
Helen was dedicated to her family and enjoyed all their family gatherings and picnics. She especially enjoyed the family card games and bingo as well.

Her parents, Orin Bowers and Rozetta Neuch Bowers passed away several years ago, and she was born on May 8, 1927 in Chester where she lived all of her life.
Helen raised her large family all while working as a ware dresser at several area potteries, including the former TS&T Pottery in Chester.
She attended Chester Schools and was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, where she was active in the Ladies Guild.
Sadly, she was preceded in death by her son, James A. Wedgwood Sr.; her granddaughter, Jessica Wedgwood; and her daughter-in-law Shannon Wedgwood.
Surviving is her husband of 67 years, William Wedgwood who she married on October 22, 1945.
In addition she leaves her daughter, Linda Shroades and her husband John of Chester; her sons, Jay Wedgwood and his companion Mary Rice of Chester, William (Butch) Wedgwood of New Castle, Pa.; Gary Wedgwood and his wife Vicki of Chester, and Scott Wedgwood of Chester; her daughter-in-law Leslie Wedgwood of Chester; brothers, Tom (Joyce) Bowers of Boulder City, Nev.; Bob Bowers of East Liverpool, and Bill (Carol) Bowers of Lady Lakes, Fla.; her sister, Mary Pat Hall of Chester; and eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Father Tony Thurston will preside for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester. Friends are welcome to visit with the family this afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where Kathy Glass of the church will lead a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
