2:20 a.m. - Police initiated a traffic stop on state Route 45 at Ridge Avenue after witnessing a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by William W. Wright, 72, 1121 Oakdale Ave., Wellsville, repeatedly crossing lanes while driving north on Third Street and turning onto Route 45 without signaling. Wright emitted a strong odor of alcohol and admitted to drinking "eight or nine beers" before leaving the Fraternal Order of Eagles 772 on Main Street. After failing field sobriety tests, Wright was arrested and cited for physical control while under the influence and failure to signal.
Feb. 21
5:06 p.m. - Amanda Merriman of Clark Avenue came to the station and told police that David Cole, the father of her daughter, has made repeated threats to her personally via text message and publically on social media, stating that he intends to kill her. She asserted that Cole has psychiatric issues. Officers told Merriman to keep the messages and forward copies to them. Merriman was also advised to call the police if Cole ever comes to her residence.
