SHAWANO, Wis. - Kathryn "Katie" J. Maloney, age 91 of Shawano, died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Born on March 21, 1921, in East Liverpool, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Aida (Hindes) McDevitt. Katie was united in marriage to Richard E. Davis in East Liverpool on Sept. 3, 1941. While serving his country during WWII, Richard preceded her in death in March of 1945. Katie married James Maloney on June 1, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1985. Katie lived in Kronenwetter with her daughter for the last 10 years until moving to Shawano where she resided in Evergreen for the past two months. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing solitaire on the computer, reading and knitting. She was a member of the Covenant Community Presbyterian Church in Weston, Wis. She will be missed by her family and friends as well as her beloved cat, Bailey.
Katie is survived by her daughter, Dixie (David) Thumstedter of Shawano; son, Richard (Lucille Buffone) Davis of Langeloth, Pa.; two granddaughters, Wendy (Shawn) Feirn of Kronenwetter, Michele (fiance, Doug Flory) Owen of Tripoli; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Oelke, Caleb and Makenzie Wozniak, Kaiden (Cassie) Owen, Cassidy Owen; two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Aubrie; and five siblings, Lucille Smith, Elsie Jenkins, Hannah Flynn, Jim McDevitt and Gary McDevitt. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; and six siblings, Mary, Bud, Bob, Dick McDevitt, Pat Culp and June Simcox.
