EAST LIVERPOOL - On Feb. 14th. The East Liverpool Area Seniors met with 28 members attending. President June Mullen called the meeting to order by calling on Ruth Wynn for a scripture reading.
The usual opening of "The Lord's Prayer", salute to the flag, and two verses of America followed. The meeting continued with the roll call of officers and the secretarial report by JoAnn Fickes.
Treasurer Gail Grimm made her weekly accounting of club funds, and informed us 4 new bills have been submitted this week. President Mullen called for a motion to pay bills. The first motion was made by Sandy Brock and Jean Tomlison seconded the motion.
Club Supervisor Mary Lou Archaragi arranged a very nice pizza party for Valentines Day for all members, it was served with salad and little pink cakes. This was her first party as Club Supervisor and she has a big thanks coming from all members. Archaragi advised next week we are to start bringing sack lunches again.
Sandy Brock celebrated a birthday and members all sang "Everybody Has a Birthday". Lester and Sandy Brock also celebrated their 46th Anniversary. A beautiful bouquet of raspberry colored carnations was given to the happy couple. The lucky recipient of the 50/50 was our Hospitality Chairman Betty Davis.
Ruth Wynn started story time by reading a Valentine verse on a card from her daughter. It was followed by a story of how cards came to be sent on Valentines Day. This brought story time to a close, and President Mullen called for motion to close.
Trustee Margaret Brown made the first motion and Ralph Samnberson seconded the motion. Members sang "The Evening Prayer", and the closing prayer was by Wynn. The meeting adjourned for pizza and games.
