George J. Davis, 67

EAST LIVERPOOL - George J. Davis, 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home in East Liverpool at 11:30 p.m. Saturday evening, Feb. 16, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

A lifetime area resident, he was born in East Liverpool on Jan. 8, 1946, a son of the late Henry and Mildred Hanlon Davis.

At one time, George was employed at Eljer's in Salem, and had also been associated with HK Porter Brickyard in Irondale. In his spare time, he loved camping at Guilford Lake, and was also a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons: Tammy Renee Rardon, Penny Davis and her husband, James; George J. "Toby" Davis, Jr. and his wife, Tonya; and Paul Davis and his wife, Lori, all of East Liverpool. Ten grandchildren also survive: George, Meranda, Melissa, Ashley, Nicholas, Jake, Carly, Zachary, Cheyenne and Johnathan, as well as a great-granddaughter, Temperance. George also leaves behind his fiancee, Debbie Lyle.

George is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Coil and her husband, Alvin; and Sondra Minor and her husband, Floyd; as well as a brother, Richard Davis and his wife, Barbara, all of East Liverpool. A sister-in-law, Janice Davis, of Lisbon, also survives.

One brother, Henry J. Davis, preceded him in death.

Services are planned for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery.
