Charges are pending against an Ogden Street man who reportedly ran from police Monday afternoon. According to reports, an officer was sitting at the intersection of Walnut Street and Bradshaw Avenue when he saw Joseph Adams, 35, pull up and try to conceal his identity by turning his head. The officer reported Adams turned into the Giant Eagle lot and accelerated through the lot, turned onto Minerva Street and then Walnut, failing to obey a stop sign. He reportedly continued at a high rate of speed up St. Clair Avenue, passing a vehicle and continued onto several other streets until he reached Ogden, with the officer in pursuit. Adams then reportedly jumped from the vehicle and ran, failing to stop when ordered to by the officer. He ran toward Waterloo Street and officers lost sight of him, searching the area for 30 minutes. A hold was placed on his vehicle.
Officers responded Sunday to a report of a hit and run accident on state Route 39 involving a car and a truck. The car was reportedly found parked on Macrum Street with the driver, Robert W. Reckner, 32, New Cumberland, W.Va., standing beside it. Officers charged him with no operator's license, failure to control and leaving the scene. The other driver was Terry L. Brown, 37, Imperial Drive.
