EAST LIVERPOOL - Floyd R. Cranston of East Liverpool died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. He was 85.
Born in East Liverpool, March 17, 1927, he was a son of the late Edward and Florence Haught Cranston. He retired from the former Crucible Steel Company and was a member of the Tri-Angle Senior Citizens.
His wife, Eleanor M. Craven Cranston, died Sept. 28, 2006. A son, Michael Cranston, preceded him in death as well as a sister Arlene Cranston; and three brothers, Gerald, Wayne and Warren Cranston.
There are two daughters: Vicky Clutter, and her husband Keith, of East Liverpool, and Sandy Pridemore, and her husband Gerald, of East Liverpool; along with a son, Floyd E. "Bub" Cranston of New Orleans.
He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren: Christine Clutter, Jeffrey Clutter and his wife Robin, Kelly Clutter, Douglas Pridemore, Alyson Cranston, Vanessa Hava, and her husband Stephen, and Jodie Danos, and her husband Darrel; and great-grandchildren: Seth Steele, Alexis Steele, Alivia Trevor, Shane Trevor, Ashley Clutter, Jessica Clutter, Kaylee Clutter, Ivy Dorsey, Douglas Pridemore and Jeff McMahon; and four great-great-grandchildren: Avery Danos, Margaret Hava, Maariana Pullie and Kaidynn Edmond.
Other survivors include two sisters, Jan Trainer, and her husband John, and Gladys Stoddard, and her husband William, all of East Liverpool.
Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Treese will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
