Chester Stasiulewicz
TORONTO - Chester J. (The Hammer Big Boy) Stasiulewicz, age 86 of Toronto passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital, Steubenville.
He was born May 24, 1926 in Steubenville, the son of the late Stephan Joseph and Natalae Popko Stasiulewicz.
Mr. Stasiulewicz was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Toronto.
He was retired from the Ohio Edison Co. (First Energy) where he was an A Man mechanic in the maintenance department, and he served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Norvegia "Nora" Santin Stasiulewicz; daughters, Mary Dacko of Toronto and Patti Redmond; sons, David of Toronto, John of Steubenville and George of Ashville, Ohio; brother, Albert of Steubenville; sisters, Josephine Chlebowicz of Richmond, Ohio and Mary Seminara of Steubenville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto and one hour prior to service on Saturday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, corner of Fidnley Street and Euclic Avenue, Toronto where a Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with celebrant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti.
Burial will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery where there will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion.
There will be a Vigil Service at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and a Toronto American Legion Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
