Jack O. "Skeeter" Weekley, 88
WELLSVILLE-Jack O. "Skeeter" Weekley, 88 of Taylor Avenue, Wellsville, Ohio died at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 following a brief illness. He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on July 4, 1924 and was the son of the late Ottis and Viola (Kennedy) Weekley.
Living his entire life in this area, he worked for 31 years in the cold strip at Crucible Steel before his retirement in 1982. Skeeter was a 1943 graduate of Wellsville High School and a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. He was a member of the Wellsville Historical Society and an avid sports fan of the Wellsville Tigers, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

His wife of over 68 years, Ruth N. (Hunter) Weekley survives him at home. They were married on Feb. 23, 1944.
His son: Jeff Weekley and his wife Linda of Wellsville; two grandchildren: Jeff Weekley and his wife Sherri of Wellsville and Shelly Lingenfelter and her husband Pete of Wellsville as well as six great-grandchildren: Ashton, Hunter, Caden and Elaina Weekley and McKenna and Kaylee Rawson survive him.
A graveside service will be held at the Chapel in Spring Hill Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 where the Tri State Burial Group will accord military honors.
Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions be made to the Wellsville Historical Society, 1003 Riverside Ave., Wellsville, OH 43968
