David H. "Sonny" Gray, 78
HOPEWELL TWP. - David H. "Sonny" Gray, 78, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Villa St. Joseph, Baden.
He was born on March 3, 1934, in Sewickley, a son of the late Clarence and Lishia (White) Gray, and he was a member of Mt. Carmel United Presbyterian Church. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for Pipeline Service Company and Heckett Engineering. He was also a musician and was a member of several country and western bands. We hope he continues to sing in Heaven.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Mae Gray; three brothers, Clarence, Richard and Paul Gray; and two sisters, Hazel Stolak and Edith Thomas.
David is survived by two sons, Roy Gray, Hopewell Twp., and David Gray and his wife Malisa, of Georgia; four daughters, Marcie Aysel and her husband Chet, Moon Twp., Ruth Snouffer and her husband Jeff, Hopewell Twp., Marilyn Roberts and her husband Steve, Hopewell Twp., and Renee Lightner and her husband Paul, of West Virginia; grandchildren, George, Kevin, Ken, Yasemin, Melissa, Jeff Jr., Jessica, Bridget, Tifanie, Dayna, Josh, Anthony and Carson; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Dorothy Mulchan, Lishia Jenkin and Virginia Kuppinger; and his dog, Panda.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Villa St. Joseph for their loving and compassionate care.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa, www.darrochfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Anastas officiating.
Interment will follow in Veasey Cemetery.
