LISBON - A man accused of having sexual contact with a teenager in a restroom at the Salem Memorial Building appeared from the county jail by video arraignment Tuesday morning in Columbiana County Municipal Court.
Eric S. Holsinger, 51, last known address Dyke Road, Rogers, is charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Judge Mark Frost set bond at $100,000 cash or surety.
According to court documents, the 13-year-old boy went to the restroom facility on Dec. 10, while he was at the building for a public function he was attending with his family. When the boy was gone for an unusual period of time, his adult brother went to the restroom to check on him. He reportedly found his brother had been assaulted by a man in the restroom.
The boy was assessed at Akron Children's Hospital, where biological evidence reportedly corroborated the boy's story and aided in determining Holsinger's identity.
Holsinger has a few previous convictions in Municipal Court in the past 10 years, but most were traffic-related charges.
A preliminary hearing to determine if Holsinger will be bound over to the Columbiana County grand jury was set for Feb. 7 before Judge Carol Robb.
