Jan. 21

4:40 p.m. - Sheren Stierwalt came to the station and told police that her boyfriend, Gregg Bailey, had assaulted her at their home following an argument about Bailey's children coming to visit. Stierwalt said Bailey grabbed her by the wrists and threw her into a recliner, then pulled her out of the chair by her ankles, onto the floor. Officers observed and photographed red marks on Stierwalt's wrists. The incident is under investigation.

12:00 a.m. - Police were dispatched to Shoub Towers, 500 Main St., for a disturbance. Officers spoke with resident Kenny McComas, who said that Desiree Britter, 40, a fellow resident, was screaming obscenities and yelling about her medications. Officers made contact with Britter at her apartment, where she could be heard from out in the hallway, and was observed talking to herself and answering her own questions. Officers advised her to quiet down so that others could sleep, and suggested that she seek proper medical assistance or face charges. Britter replied that she didn't need assistance and that other residents caused all the trouble. Police charged her with disorderly conduct and told her to call the police if and when she has a problem with another resident.
