NEWELL - Frank Williams Jr., 84, of Newell, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 29, 1928, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Frank and Stella Gill Williams.
Frank served in the U.S. Army, as a Medic during the Korean War. He was a retired Modeler at Homer Laughlin China Co; a devoted member of the Newell United Methodist Church and served as a church Trustee; held memberships with the Newell Odd Fellows Lodge; the elite group "The White Hats;" and was a former coach of the Newell Hot Stove League. Frank was an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast.
Besides his parents, a son, Daniel Williams; and two brothers, Ralph and Richard Williams, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his loving wife, Norma Francis Williams of Newell; a son, Dave (Nancy) Williams of Newell; three grandchildren, Courtney (Jared) Czarnecki of Canfield, Calley Williams of Texas and Cole Williams of Ohio; a great-granddaughter, Greta; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Williams of Chester.
Visitation will be held tonight, Friday, Jan 25, from 5-8 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. The Rev. Ethel Dunaway will officiate. Burial will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell.
