LISBON - James Richard Pastore, 78, of Lisbon, passed away early Sunday night, Jan. 20, 2013, at his home with his family present.
He was born May 21, 1934, in Salineville, a son of the late James and Delores McKee Pastore.
James lived all his life in the Salineville/Lisbon area graduating from Salineville High School in 1952 and attending classes at Kent State University. He was a sergeant in the United States Army in Germany from 1957 to 1959. James owned and operated the James R. Pastore Construction Company before becoming the founder of JP Industrial. He was a member of the Salineville Church of Christ. He was a dedicated father and husband and enjoyed working in construction.

James will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Erna Donskaja Pastore at home; one son, James E. (LeeAnn) Pastore of Highland Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Susan (James) Carter of Mechanicstown, Julie (Nathaniel) Vrable of Lisbon; one brother, Joseph (Myrna) Pastore of Salineville; one sister, Candace (Robert) Dohner of Michigan; one sister-in-law, Lily (Winfreed) Fest of Germany; his mother-in-law Else Donskaja of Germany; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at The Dawson Funeral Home, 215 West 5th St., East Liverpool, with Fred O. May officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Salineville, where full military honors will be accorded by the Salineville American Legion John Adams Post 442 Honor Guard.
Viewing will also be at The Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 4-9 p.m.
The arrangements are being handled by The Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville.
