Joseph Bernier, 29, Baird Road, Homeworth, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to attempted illegal possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, possession of drugs and unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance. He faces up to three and a half years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Sentencing is set for March 1.
Court documents state Bernier had methamphetamine, along with the chemicals to manufacture drugs in his home when a search warrant was issued on Aug. 5, 2011. Additionally, authorities found a sawed-off 410 shotgun in the home.
