Helen Tittle Lilley, 87

EAST LIVERPOOL - Helen Tittle Lilley, age 87, of East Liverpool, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, after a brief illness.

Born in Wellsville on Oct. 10, 1925, Mrs. Lilley was the daughter of the late Donald L. and Iva M. (Birkhimer) Leyda. She had lived her entire life in this area and was a graduate of East Liverpool High School in 1943 and was employed as a Nurses Aid for the former Ross Nursing Home for 24 years, retiring in 1985.

Mrs. Lilley was married in 1968 to her late husband, Walter L. Lilley, who died in 1982.

Survivors include three sons, Dan Tittle of San Diego, Calif., Frank Tittle and his wife, Lee, of East Liverpool, and John Tittle and his wife, Connie, of Wellsville; and one daughter, Celeste Vohar of Richland, S.C.; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson.

It was Mrs. Lilley's wish that services be held in the Chapel at Spring Hill Cemetery, Wellsville at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Sturm officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill.

The family will be present to visit with friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 at the Chapel.

Arrangements are being handled by the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes.
